Hi, I'm Ben. I'm always trying to learn more, comfortable with working independently and highly driven. The meritocratic nature of programming has been one of the main driving forces for me to enter the field, as I am highly willing to learn, appreciate challenges and pride myself on my adaptability. I feel these qualities suit the field of programming perfectly. I will throw myself into any task and give it my absolute best, both to push myself and because I want to be proud of what I have created.

For as long as I can remember, I've always had a passion for technology, however I only recently decided to take the leap into this thrilling world. Over the last year I have trained in a plethora of languages and frameworks. An Interactive Map

This project made use of the leaflet.js library to deliver an interactive global map. The user could either click countries on the map or select them using the dropdown, which would cause the map to be highlighted, as well as a list of prominent points of interest to appear on the map as markers.

Once a country has been selected, the easybuttons on the side can be used, displaying various forms of information about the country using API's, such as general country info, flag, weather, a gallery of images, exchange rate and breaking news for that country. The layer control toggle in the corner also allows the user to both disable selected markers and change the map view.

A Company Management Directory

This project is a company directory, allowing the user to add, delete and modify information within an sql database with a simple and intuitive interface. The user can select the desired table from the tabs at the top, and search within the tab using the search bar in the top right corner.

New entries in the database can be added at any point, and existing entries can be modified, however, there is a check to prevent deleting departments and locations with dependencies, which prevents the deleted and protects the integrity of the database. There is also the ability to filter personnel by either location or department, using the filter button in the top right.
